34” bags are recommended for boats up to 30’. We recommend 2 bags for sufficient speed control. They slow your boat without cutting back on the throttle.
These bags are handcrafted and have been extensively tested under charter boat conditions on our own boat the "WER-ON-UM" and they work much better than the most common bags made from Denier vinyl-coated nylon Packcloth. If you look below you will find pictures of our old gray trolling bags made from this fabric and after just 1 season it had ripped out, the fabric began to break down and crack, holes were opening up and the thread began to rot which in turn caused the seams to unravel.
The Cordura is lighter in weight, easier to store, waterproof, and much tougher than anything we have ever seen. We tried poking holes in it, ripping it, even burning it. Nothing happened. Wow!!
To Deploy bags : Deployment of the bag is very easy. Run a line from your center cleat to the front of the bag and a line from the loop on the small end of the bag to the back corner of your boat. You need enough slack so the bag gets well into the water but tight enough to keep it close to the boat and out of your lines. Tip to aid in quick deployment of the bag: Raise up on the line that is attached to the back of the bag so the back end of the bag is at a 60 - 90 degree angle to the water as the bag begins to open. Hold in this position until the bag starts to completely open, then release rope.
